WEATHER NOTICE from the City of Harlan at 01/13/2022

With the forecast of upcoming snow, the City of Harlan would like to ask the citizens for assistance in maintenance of the streets. Public Works crews, depending on the timing of the snowfall, will be out Friday and Saturday to get streets accessible for travel.

• Friday, January 14th – VOLUNTARY off-street parking.

• Saturday, January 15th and Monday, January 17th – SNOW EMERGENCY will be in effect.

  • There will be NO parking allowed on the City’s north/south streets from 8 AM until Noon. There will be NO parking on the East/West streets from 1PM until 5PM.

  • Parallel Parking is required on any streets where the snow is windrowed in the center of the street, primarily in the Downtown Area. Windrowed snow will be hauled away on Monday, January 17th.

  • Violators of the snow emergency will result in a $25 ticket and possibly have their vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.
